1. Stop being so tough on yourself…EVERYONE has eaten more than they planned ! Its not easy to say no to every offer of mince pies..chocolates…bailieys..etc etc so forget about that because this year is all about looking forward not backwards.
  2. Find your reason ….why is eating healthy food and exercising important to you? What do you want to achieve? Write that down now and put it somewhere you can see it every day.
  3. Make an exercise plan that fits with you. If you set out to do something that wont really fit you wont stick to it  and then you will start feeling bad about yourself unnecessarily. There is no room for feeling bad about yourself this year so set the realistic plan from day one !
  4. Be prepared ! meal planning is something that I know works. When we rush in from work and we are tired and hungry and we havn’t thought about what we are eating then its really easy to grab something less healthy.
  5. Manage your stress levels. Stress stops us thinking clearly so all our best plans fly out the window and we get more stressed !
