Derwentside companies, MINT Business Club and Celebrate Difference have announced a week of events that will celebrate the public being invited to the new business hub in Consett this June.
Make It MINT Week will take place during week commencing 6 June at The Hub Consett, which was formerly the Braes Bar.
Access to the business hub, which opened in March, has been for MINT Business Club members and the local businesses who have taken up residence in the five offices there.
One of those businesses is a social enterprise, Celebrate Difference, which was launched to support Neurodiverse adults, those with ADHD, Autism and related co-morbid conditions.
During Make It MINT Week, three events will welcome the public to The Hub for the first time.
The Business Support Merry-Go-Round takes place first, on Wednesday, 8 June from 8.30am to 4pm. This full day event is for self-employed business owners and is open to current MINT Business Club members and non-members alike. There will be networking, speed mentoring sessions, co-working and food and drink.
On Thursday, 9 June, Celebrate Difference will hold a Clothes Swap with proceeds going to help fund support for self-employed people living with ADHD. This event is open to all. You can donate clothing anytime throughout the week and join the live swap from 7pm on the day itself.
In addition, Nicola Jayne Little, founder of MINT Business Club and Celebrate Difference, will invite members of the wider business community to a VIP show-around day, where they can see the new space Nicola and her team have created for Northeast businesses, good causes and the local public.
The week will close with a MINT Market on Saturday, 11 June from 10am to 2pm. The market will highlight products by local makers and producers. Everyone will be welcome to attend the market and purchase products that will support the local economy.
Nicola said: “We created this space to help small businesses, and that doesn’t stop at our members. Through MINT and Celebrate Difference we have the chance to reach and support so many self employed people, the unemployed, growing companies and add something to the local community here in Consett too.
“We’re incredibly excited to welcome so many people through The Hub doors in June.”
